Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be transported to the Four Points by Sheraton in Nairobi. Enjoy the epitome of luxury and tranquility as you unwind in the elegant surroundings. The tastefully decorated rooms feature modern amenities, plush bedding, and stunning views, ensuring a restful night before your adventure begins.
After an early pick-up from your hotel, you will depart Nairobi at 8:00 am, heading to Sirimon Park Gate (2,660m). Here, you will meet your guides and porters and start your ascent. After a 3-hour hike with a lunch break along the way, you will reach Old Moses Camp (3,300m) on the edge of the mountainous forest for your overnight stay.
Leaving the camp at 8:00 am, you'll trek through the moorland, characterized by diverse flora, including seneca and lobelia. After a 6-hour, 14km hike, crossing Ontulili River and passing through Mackinders Valley, you will arrive at Shipton Camp (4,200m), situated below the majestic peaks of Batian, Nelion, and Lenana.
Spend the day acclimatizing with a walk to Kami Hut and down to Hausberg Lakes (Hausberg Tarn and Nanyuki Tarn). Return to Shipton Camp for dinner and overnight.
Starting early at 3:00 am, you'll trek via steep scree to Simba Cole and onto rocky terrain to reach Point Lenana for sunrise photos. Descend to Simba Cole, then continue to Mintos Hut (4,200m) for lunch. In the late afternoon, you will arrive at your fly camp at the road head (3,300m), after passing Gorge Valley and Lake Michaelson.
Descend from Meru Mount Kenya Bandas (3,000m) through a bamboo forest, where you might encounter buffalo, klipspringer, zebra, and elephants. After a 2-hour hike, 4x4 vehicles will drive you to Chogoria, where you'll meet your driver, have lunch, and then proceed back to Nairobi for drop-off.
